Detox Drinks
Prepare Yourself For A Deeper Cleanse

Get ready to enjoy these nine pages of detox drinks of smoothies and green juices I have created on your journey of a lifetime of health and wellness. They are part of my seasonal eating detox plan.

‘Every time you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it.’

- Heather Morgan, MS, MLC

I juice at least three times a week in the winter months and more times during the summer months. During the winter I am more a tea and soup drinker, so I indulge. Juicing is part of my health plan.

It is so easy to put together the ingredients for my morning juice. I just throw everything into my blender. For ease and quickness, I always have frozen organic berries, pineapples, mangoes but fresh spinach, bananas, ginger, and raw almonds to make my own almond liquid drink.

These restorative juices are not only detox drinks but a builder of my body and can be yours, at the cellular level.

Green Juices

Green juices are high in antioxidants and phytonutrients, both of which help the body get rid of free radicals and other potentially damaging toxins.

These juices help in the breaking down the cellular walls of greens, which are often tough to digest. This allows you to get maximum benefit out of the fruits and veggies in each drink.

Green juices are a great snack option during your detox.

Smoothies - Satisfying Detox Drinks

Smoothies can sometimes be a replacement meal, especially when you are on the run and don't have time to sit down and eat.

These smoothies have chia seeds. Yes!! They are the same seeds you saw growing on Chia Pets. They are so good and healthy for you that I wrote a whole page about them.

Blueberries are great in reducing inflammation, promoting heart health, aid digestion, and boost immunity. It is an excellent source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K, and a good source of Fiber and Manganese.

Smoothies can be part of your foods that detox the body wellness plan.

Our Need For Water

Water is essential for survival and for detoxification.

The human body is made up of roughly 60 percent water, and while we can survive for a time without food, we can only live for a few days without water. The body loses water daily through sweat, breath, and urine, so we must replenish it every day.

Smoothies and green juices are great as detox drinks but including water as part of your deeper detox cleanse is a must.

The guidelines on how much we should drink daily are unclear, and the standard is eight glasses a day. What I have learned is we each need water, but how much is down to each individual and their body weight.

Our need for water is an individual experience. Exercise, temperature and working conditions can alter your needs.

So the best indicators are listening to your body symptoms such as headaches, low energy, lack of concentration, dry skin and constipation.

Remember drinking excess is not at all advisable. It's not about making certain you drink a certain quantity each day, but its about making water your drink of choice and replacing all of the other forms of drinks that are commercially available.

When you become in tune with your body you'll know exactly how much water, another great detox drinks, you need to drink to make you feel and look your best.
